Okay, so I realize that it's the 12th of July, 8 days past Independence Day. But I'm still gonna wish everybody a happy fourth!
So the day started off with some last minute prepartions. Then, my family and I went to the neighboorhood parade, where everybody can walk, bike, ride in cars, scooters, dogs, whatever. No, not ride on dogs, dogs can come! :P
Everybody or their item is dressed up to match Independence Day. So I'm wearing a shirt with an eagle on it, rest is just regular clothing. My bike is all dressed up. (:D) So I ride around once, and it was over so quickly, it was almost boring. So I bend the idea of riding around once, and ride around again. Hey, it's a trendsetter! Nobody followed suit, though. I double lapped my walking familiy. Then I got bored, and rode around again. Meanwhile, those people who sit on their lawns and watch are really confused. Nobody rides around more than once.
I was debating riding four times 'round, as I could ride all day, but I decided against it. Then there was a contest, with categories from most patriotic, to best bike, to best dogs. My friend won "2nd place most cute" (xD), as he had a big pen and patriotic cap, representing John Hancock (declaration of independence signer). We also won "most patriotic family", I think we got 2nd or 3rd for that. So I rode home, got changed, and swam for a few minutes before getting out and riding home. Supposedly a friend family was coming over for dinner, that was decided last minute. Turns out I missed the watermelon fight, soda dive, etc. Shoot! We as a family went swimming before dinner with the other family, and then had dinner. Good dinner. I and another friend battled against my previous friend and his friend. :D
(We won. :P)
Following dinner, we hosted an awesome fireworks display, low set, but had sprinklers and poppers (both of which I smuggled a few for unexpected times, later in the show) We kept trying to light fires with the sprinklers and poppers.
I think I made the record of holding seven LIT sprinklers at one time... and trying desperately not to catch myself on fire.
Overall, it was a great fourth of July!
